We were appointed by a well known charitable organisation to deal with an Employer's Liability claim. The Plaintiff alleged that she had been assaulted by a service user with special needs. She alleged that her training had been insufficient. In her High Court Proceedings, she sought very significant damages.

We conducted extensive investigations into the training regime offered by our client, to the extent that we arranged for a renowned expert from Britain to fly to Ireland. attend a training session and comment on it suitability.

Additional interviews with witnesses uncovered the fact that the Plaintiff, a supervisor, had sent home other staff not long before the alleged assault, leaving herself alone with the service user.

Moreover, we detected that she was running a small but successful business from a local market, despite alleging that she was unable to work. We attended at the market and purchased some of her wares, which were introduced into evidence.

On the day of hearing, the Plaintiff withdrew her claim just before the trial commenced, offering a significant contribution towards costs.
